Pre-FASU games seminar set for March 26

The seminar will serve as a crucial platform for comprehensive discussions and strategic planning in anticipation of the forthcoming All Africa Universities Games.

AHEAD of the anticipated 11th All Africa Universities Games, with the theme ‘Lagos 2024’, Lagos State University (LASU) and the University of Lagos (UNILAG) are gearing up for a pre-FASU games seminar.

This preparatory event is slated to take place on Tuesday, March 26, 2024, at the Aderemi Makanjuola Lecture Theatre, situated within LASU's main campus in Ojo.

Scheduled to run from 10:00 am to 4:00 pm, the seminar boasts a distinguished lineup of guest speakers, including notable figures from the sports and academic spheres. Among them are Mr Bola Orodele, a former Secretary General of the Nigerian Universities Games Association (NUGA), Prof. Iyiola Oni from the Centre for Multi-Modal Transport Studies at the University of Lagos, and Prof. Clement Fasan, renowned for his role at Lagos State University and as the Programme Director of the International Olympic Committee Advanced Sports Management Course (ASMC) Nigeria.

The hosts of this event include Prof. Ibiyemi Olatunji-Bello, mni, NPOM, the Vice-Chancellor of LASU, and Prof. Folashade Ogunsola, FAS, OON, the Vice-Chancellor of UNILAG.

The seminar will serve as a crucial platform for comprehensive discussions and strategic planning in anticipation of the forthcoming All Africa Universities Games. Attendees can expect insightful deliberations on sports management, transportation studies, and other pertinent topics crucial for a successful hosting of the event.
