LASU alumnus emerges new Head of NAN in Lagos

AN alumnus of the Lagos State University, Mr Adeleye Ajayi has emerged as the new Head of the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in the Lagos office.

Information reaching LASUToday states that Ajayi, who also doubles as the Chairman of the Nigeria Union of Journalists, Lagos State Council, emerged as the Head of the NAN Lagos office due to his professionalism.

Over the years, Ajayi has distinguished himself as a versatile and hardworking personality, and he has paid his dues in journalism with top-notch international exposure.

“The former President of the Maritime Reporters’ Association of Nigeria (MARAN) has a track record of success, which he extended to Lagos State Council of the Nigeria Union of Journalists, where he is doing Lagos Journalists proud,” the Council narrated in the statement titled: “NUJ Felicitates Ajayi As Head of NAN, Lagos Office.”

The council expressed hope that Ajayi will make a difference in the leadership of the News Agency of Nigeria. 

Meanwhile, a Co-founder of LASUToday.com and an Associate Professor of Journalism at LASU, Tunde Akanni (PhD) has congratulated Mr Ajayi, describing his elevation as "fit and proper and one that will strengthen the operations of NAN given the fact that Lagos is so strategic." 

Dr Akanni also prayed for more success for the NUJ Boss.
