LASUSU celebrates with madam VC, Prof. Ibiyemi in church

Still in the euphoria of the Diamond Jubilee birthday celebration of the Vice-Chancellor of LASU, the Dean of Students' Affairs, the President and Executive members of the Lagos State University Students Union (LASUSU), on Sunday, April 28 2024, went to church to celebrate the Vice-Chancellor.

THE Lagos State University Students' Union (LASUSU), led by Comrade Haroun Tobun and his executive members, came together to celebrate the 60th birthday of the Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Ibiyemi Ibilola Olatunji-Bello, mni, NPOM on Sunday, April 28, 2024. The celebration was held at the Redeemed Christian Church of God in Lekki, Lagos State.

The presence of the Students' Union executive members showcased the strong bond between the Vice-Chancellor and the student body, emphasising their joint efforts to advance the University's mission, promote academic excellence, and enhance the overall student experience.

The gathering at the church served as a reminder of the Vice-Chancellor's significant impact on the lives of the students and the institution as a whole, her unwavering dedication to excellence, compassion, commitment to knowledge and empowerment serve as an inspiration to all.

The presence of the Lagos State University Students' Union at this celebration reflects the Vice-Chancellor's exceptional leadership and genuine concern for the welfare and growth of the students. It signifies a harmonious relationship and a shared commitment to work together for the betterment of the university.

Comrade Haroun Tobun, the President of the Students' Union, expressed gratitude for the opportunity to celebrate the Vice-Chancellor's milestone birthday. He highlighted the event's importance in strengthening the bond between the leadership and the students, fostering inclusivity and collaboration.

During the celebration, the Vice-Chancellor expressed her appreciation for the heartfelt gesture from the Students' Union. She reiterated her commitment to creating an environment that promotes academic excellence and personal growth for all students. She emphasised the significance of working together with the student body to address their needs effectively.

Also, the Deputy Governor of Lagos State, Dr Obafemi Hamzat and the Dean of Students' Affairs, Dr Surajudeen Fatai graced the occasion to celebrate with the Vice-Chancellor.
