THE Media Foundation for West Africa (MFWA), in collaboration with the International Press Centre (IPC), is set to organise a webinar tagged ‘Safety of Female Journalists in Nigeria’ on Thursday, February 9, 2023, by 11 am.
A Twitter post by the organization announcing the webinar reads; “Over the years, our reports have shown that women are exposed to disproportionate & specific threats, including stigmatisation, professional harassment & cyber violence. Join us & our partner @IPCng as we discuss Safety of Female Journalists in #Nigeria.”
Speakers at the webinar include Funke Treasure-Durodola, Journalist, Media Strategist & Trainer, Girl Child Rights Activist; Dr Tunde Akanni, Associate Prof., Department of Communication & Media Studies, Lagos State University; and Victoria Ibanga, Editor-in-Chief, Next Edition news website.
